Guy Cooking for Kids

When I was growing up, boys were chased out of the kitchen and encouraged to go play sports or break things.  I was good for at least half of that equation.  The good news was that my dad loved to cook... or so we thought.   Once we were beyond the age of romanticized childhood, my siblings and I realized it was practical.  Dad and my mom both worked and he got home before she did.

But what about dads and sons who really do like to cook?  Are we to be confined to the back yard putting grill marks on our favorite fare?  Not that there's anything wrong with that, but hey, why not spend some serious time in the kitchen learning the proper way to prepare a variety of food?  It's probably a challenge for mom, but the way I see it, our daughters-in-law will thank us some day.

So here's the question: What makes great "guy food" -- stuff guys like to eat... and cook?  Post your answers here... and may the best man win!
